Our commitment to sustainability has been part of our philosophy for centuries. It guides our daily actions and shapes our vision for the future — a responsibility we embrace with pride.
Sustainability Recognized
At the Orso Grigio, sustainability is not a trend or a slogan — it’s a way of life. Our efforts have been honored with important recognitions that confirm we’re on the right path:
We are particularly proud of these two awards because they reflect our ongoing dedication to ecological responsibility, social fairness, and a deep connection to our region.
Attention to Every Detail
We believe sustainability is not only about major initiatives, but also about the small, mindful choices we make every day. For example:
Bath slippers: We invite guests to bring their own slippers from home. If needed, we’re happy to provide a pair on request. This small step helps us reduce waste from disposable items.
Minibar: Not all rooms include a minibar as standard — a conscious decision to save energy. On request, we’ll gladly prepare a minibar stocked with your preferred drinks.
Amenities: To minimize unnecessary waste, we’ve reduced disposable products in rooms and bathrooms. Of course, everything you may need is available upon request — just not automatically provided.
Conserving resources
Historical homes are inherently sustainable by design: our forefathers’ ambitions were less ephemeral and craftsmanship was in its prime.
Over the years, we have adapted the Orso Grigio Boutique & Gourmet Hotel to meet the contemporary demands of the times and those of our guests. We’ve made additions and renovations, particularly with energy efficiency in mind.
Supply & Recycling
We exclusively source renewable energies. The heat originates from the biomass power plant in Toblach – Innichen, while the electricity is generated from hydroelectric power plants in our mountains. It is important to emphasize that the energy provided by Alperia is 100% renewable.
Reducing waste is our primary criterion; the unavoidable waste is carefully separated and disposed of responsibly..
Regional & Seasonal
Our breakfast buffet offers a choice of primarily regional products that are free of packaging and which vary seasonally. Dairy products and cheeses are supplied by the local dairy and farmstead dairies. Farmers provide our jams and local bakers bake our bread.
Our kitchen offers meat and fish. We also prepare vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free dishes, as well as vegan meals upon request.
