Your wine hotel in South Tyrol – wine tasting in style in San Candido

Wine is our obsession

What is missing after a successful day’s hiking at the foot or on a peak of the Dolomites? A good glass of wine, of course, in a nice company or on its own. In a reclaimed basement area, surrounded by historic walls, we conserve roughly 400 wine labels. They include wines from the top wine-producing regions and most scrupulous wine-growers: some classics and a few luxurious rarities.

Your host Franz Ladinser is a wine connoisseur dedicated to his favourite hobby, who enjoys sharing his expertise with his guests. The weekly free wine-tasting event he holds in this original locale is an unforgettable experience.

The wine cellar is always open to visitors.

Smiling man with glasses stands in front of shelves filled with wine bottles, arms crossed. A man pours wine into a glass in a rustic cellar with stone walls and hanging light bulbs. A server in a striped apron opens a bottle of Pinot Noir wine at a table set with a white tablecloth.

Wine-tasting

Franz Ladinser, your host and a wine connoisseur, offers a weekly wine-tasting event in the basement wine cellar. Savour, smell, sip and enjoy noble wines together – preferably with a blind taste test.

In the end, what really counts is fine quality and personal preference, two factors that make wine such an interesting art.

The wine list

Take a look at our wine list: reds, whites and sparkling wines from the finest wine-growers, selected with expert attention.

Menu, corks, wineglass, decanter, and napkin on a wooden table next to a dark chair. Man in glasses smelling a glass of white wine in a wine cellar with bottles on wooden shelves behind him. A bottle of Wieninger Pinot Noir wine with a glass of red wine and a cork on a set dining table.

Fresh, safely sheltered and underground

Our wines are preserved in the oldest part of the house, in the basement. The constant temperature throughout the year and its natural humidity make our cellar the ideal place to store our bottles.
