Bustling activity in the village!
San Candido is alive even in the off-season. Its roughly 3,000 inhabitants are out and about in the village even during the low season – shopping, sipping coffee and dining. Tables on our terrace-café overlook the pedestrian walkway and provide a charming view of the activity below. And our cozy throw blankets will keep you warm on chilly days.
Architecture and Eras – San Candido in Autumn
Nestled at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, San Candido quickly grew in importance, with residents eager to leave a lasting mark on time. Two remarkable churches still define the town today: the Romanesque Collegiate Church, consecrated in 1284, with its clear, austere lines and timeless perfection, and the Baroque Parish Church of St. Michael. Together, they tell a story of deep faith, craftsmanship, and an era when stone spoke a language of the spirit.
