Excursion with our guests to the Vallona refuge at 1947 m

On 25 August at 9 a.m. we set off from Innichen. We crossed the state border to Sillian and then to Obertilliach in the Geil valley. There, in front of Hotel Weilerhof, we turned right into the Obertilliach valley. After about 2 km we stopped at the bridge. From there we walked to the Vallona Hut, a place of recent South Tyrolean history. It was a very pleasant and easy hike. At the top of the refuge we ate a cold meal, apricot strudel and coffee. At about half past two, we returned to the valley. As always, the way back seemed the shortest! Back at the cars, everyone was happy and impressed by the wide and wild natural landscape of the Carnic Alps that we passed through.

Once a week Franz or Verena accompany guests on these hikes, which are always full of interesting and very social conversations. It is an excellent opportunity to make new friends.
